The Cantina Bolzano counts today as one of the most modern and important wineries in South Tyrol, and is one of the leading companies in Italy. The characteristics of the location and the cultivation area, between 200 and 900 m a.s.l. allows for an exceptionally vast assortment of excellent wines. The sunny Bolzano valley basin and the steep, sunny vineyard slopes of Santa Maddalena, Santa Giustina, Leitach and Rencio with their heat-retaining terrain, made up of ice-age moraine detritus and weathered porphyry, form the principal cultivation area of the Cantina Bolzano. The high quality of the wines from Alto Adige is a result of the labours of the 220 winegrowers of the Cantina Bolzano: Farmers by tradition and by passion, they produce the very best of grapes with dedication, skill and untiring effort. After the flawless attention of these winegrowers, the grapes are handed over to oenologist Stephan Filippi, who transforms them into elegant wines with passion and sensitivity. The harmonious cycle draws to a close with “noble nectars” of a captivating originality and quality. Cantina Bolzano wines have been the recipients of international awards and possess a highly individual, distinctive character. Producing good wines is a trade; producing outstanding wines is an art: It is in keeping with this sentiment that the Cantina Bolzano convinces wine connoisseurs and experts of the importance of quality over quantity. The multi-faceted terroir with its autochthonous grape varietals, the unique Alpine-Mediterranean growing conditions and the numerous and prestigious awards won by our leading wines have all contributed to the success of the Cantina Bolzano and the fact that it is now one of the leading Italian wineries of excellence on the international market.
