After the Calvenschlössl was acquired in 2004, the desire to grow a high-quality organic wine on the steep slopes surrounding the house was immediately followed. This was anything but easy; For vineyards the slopes are extremely steep and the altitude (970 to 1005 meters above sea level) is very unusual.
This extraordinary situation is also a tremendous luck.
Due to the southern exposure, the grapes can warm the whole day in the sun and fully mature at this extreme altitude.Cool nights and sometimes very hot days result in grapes with high sugar value and distinctive acidity.
These excellent conditions lead to wines with an incomparable fruity aroma and an ideal balance between acidity, mildness and alcohol.
