Merano racecourse is one of the most beautiful equine sporting facilities in Europe. The first horse races for aristocratic spa guests took place here in 1896. The traditional Easter Monday Haflinger horse race and the Grand Prix of Merano on the last Sunday in September are the highlights of the season.
