General description
24 winegrowers founded the youngest cellar cooperative in South Tyrol in 1961. Today, around 135 winegrowers place their grapes in the experienced hands of the cellar master of the Winery Eisacktaler Kellerei. In total, the catchment area covers about 150 hectares of vineyards. In the Eisacktal valley, Italy's northernmost wine-growing region, conditions are ideal for growing white grape varieties (e.g. Kerner, Sylvaner, Riesling). The range of the winery comprises 14 varieties (10 white wines and 4 red wines). From these, a total of 28 wines of the classic line and the selection lines Aristos and Sabiona are produced. The winery attaches great importance to the cooperation with local family farms and has set itself the goal of producing high-quality wines through careful processing, thus preserving the bond with the unique nature for future generations. During an expert guided tour, guests learn the secrets of viticulture, fermentation, pressing and storage. The cellar tour is followed by a tasting of 5 wines.
